Forex: CAD/CHF (Canadian Dollar vs Swiss Franc)

This is an interesting pair for Forex traders that pit the Canadian dollar against the Swiss Franc. When an order is put in for this type of currency pair, the order will read CAD/CHF. This means that the Canadian dollar is in the base position and the Franc is in the counter position. So what is the exchange rate for this currency trade? The currency rate as of the date of this article is 0.9407 francs versus 1 Canadian dollar. This would indicate that the Canadian dollar is the higher valued of the two currencies in this particular pair.
Both countries are very well off but as seen above the Loonie is higher than the Swissy as of this writing. Depending on market circumstances this can change almost hour by hour depending upon the political and financial climate in these two countries. When ordering CAD/CHF, make certain that the currency change is correct when purchasing both currencies in the Loonie, so that when you convert to the Swissy, you will not be short. This can be embarrassing not to mention potentially disastrous when you are dealing with currency conversion to make a profit. Nothing chills the blood like discovering that you have shorted yourself in a trade.
